Dennis W. Layton, originally hails from Long Island, New York, where he started surveying at 19. He relocated to Las Vegas in 1987—just in time to witness the city’s incredible expansion. His progressive advancement from field to management at both large and small firms has enabled him to develop a unique perspective on how to most efficiently undertake complex projects using the most out of technology, personnel and practical experience.
Today, Dennis holds 10 licenses across the United States, and is always contemplating the pursuit of more. As Business Development Manager of Heritage Surveying, Dennis manages company business and marketing efforts, while working within the Heritage team of highly qualified surveyors. He’s also been guest speaker for various civic and professional organizations to promote a better understanding of land surveying in the community.
Dennis is a Certified Federal Surveyor (CFedS), is OSHA 30 Construction certified and is a member of The National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS), The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, The California Land Surveyors Association (CLSA), The New York State Association of Professional Land Surveyors (NYSAPLS) and has served as a Director for the Southern Nevada Chapter of the Nevada Association of Land Surveyors (SNALS).
Away from the office, Dennis enjoys spending time with his four children, golfing, taking cooking classes, and traveling around the country photobombing other people.
